Easy Peasy Chilli Cheese Fries

I was drooling over PB's post about poutine yesterday, and decided to make some myself.
Unfortunately, I couldnt find cheese curds at the grocery store, and I had been craving for chilli con carne for a while now, so I thought I'd make chilli cheese fries instead. (In respect of my canadian friends, I won't even call it poutine).
I used this brand of seasoned french fries that is the name of a presidential candidate.
I made chilli using this recipe, except I omitted the beans and cheese sauce.
I grated some cheddar cheese and mixed it with grated mozarella.

I started making the chilli right after I had put the fries in the oven, and it was done by the time the fries were crispy.
Ladeled the chilli over the fries and sprinkled a really generous amount of cheese. YUM.
I had to eat these with a fork.

Layers of sin. Try not to think about the calories.

If I'm lucky, I'd have some chilli leftover so that I can eat it with corn chips tomorrow!

  2. Did the cheese melt a bit? *drool* I'd dump the chili on the cheese on the chips if I had my way.

You are one determined woman! (I've been drooling for this for ages and I haven't even googled for poutine till you said you would).

  3. Pak Malim Kucing Ray yang Alim,
nanti esok kita balik, kita masak untuk pak malim, kata Elisa yang semakin tak selim. Tapi kena jemput datang ke rumah lah, kata elisa memancing kelah. Atau nak suruh pass kat opis? tanya elisa memakan kacang peas.
    :)

    Peebs,
When the chilli was really hot, it did melt a bit. But when it got cooler I had to warm it up in the oven to melt it.
I think next time I want to try with mozarella bits instead of shreaded and make the brown gravy betul2.

Lagi Komen Pak Malim, kucing ray yg alim.

    Elisa,

Bertuah saya mendapat awak sebagai kawan, kata Pak Malim sambil meminum teh secawan. Awak bukan saja pandai memasak, kata Pak Malim sambil memakai baju pesak, malah tidak lokek utk berkongsi makanan dgn saya, kata Pak Malim sambil menyapu kaya. (Kelihatan Pak Malim sedang mengesat air mata sambil masuk ke dalam kereta).

  5. aha, aha, kak teh nampak Pak Malim datang jumpa sapa,
kak teh baru saja nak datang pujuk elisa, kata kak teh nak cuba korek rahsia,

    bisik kat kak teh lagi,
    nama kucing yang berus gigi.

  6. PakMalim Kucing Ray yang Alim,
Tak payah lah pak malim terharu, kata elisa memakai kasut baru.
Motif sebenar ialah supaya orang lain gemuk sama, kata elisa memancing gelama.
    *mwahahahah*

    Kak Teh,
Tak Boleh, Tak Boleh!, geleng elisa memakan koleh.
Kita islam tak makan rasuah, kenyang elisa meneguk kuah.
(Tapi kalau nak jamu free, tak apa, ketawa elisa minum air kelapa.)
Rahsia ini bukan milikku, kata elisa mengetuk paku.
Harus hanya dibuka oleh tuan badan, lalu kembali mengetam papan.
    ;)
